What is a basic morning routine?

First, let’s tackle what a basic morning routine is. A morning routine is a set of habits that you practice when you wake up in the morning. It is actually a routine which means you’re going through the same motions every morning.

The wonderful thing about a morning routine is that it is fully customizable and each person can create one based on their own personal lifestyle and goals. However, if you do some research, you’ll find that most successful and wealthy people have a morning routine, and while they vary, they’re all similar.

How can I change my life before 8 a.m.?

A morning routine can literally change your life. The consistency of small intentional actions adds up to making a huge impact in our lives. Committing to your morning routine daily can change your life for the better.

I recommend that you wake up early. Begin your day at a time that will allow you to get through your routine without rushing. For many people that’s 5 a.m., but for others it may be 3 a.m. or 4 a.m. If you’re just starting out, it may be 6 a.m. or 7 a.m. Just remember that the earlier you begin, the earlier you’ll finish.

This alone is life-changing because it allows you to start your day when you are at your optimal energy and focus levels. It’s easy to tune out distractions and focus on the things that are important to you.

A solid morning routine will boost your confidence, increase your productivity, improve mental health, increase happiness, reduce stress, etc.

What is the best morning routine for a woman?

The best morning routine for a Christian woman begins with starting the day early. If you’re married and/or have children, get up before your family. Waking up before everyone else makes a huge difference in your day. Be sure to prepare the night before so that your clothes, bible study materials, etc. are ready and easily accessible to help your morning go smoothly.

Get dressed and begin your day with positive affirmations and gratitude. Proverbs 18:21 says Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

Psalm 9:1 says I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart;

I will tell of all Your marvelous works.

Starting your day with these two things helps you obtain the right heart posture and attitude as you begin your day. Once you’ve completed these things, spend time in prayer and reading your Bible. Take time to get silent and listen for the Lord’s voice.

Consider reading a personal development book and exercising during this time. I also like to review my dreams and goals, tend to housework, and even cook dinner for the day during this time.

Since I make time to do all of these things in the morning, I’m usually done with the most important things in my day before 9:30 a.m. This leaves me with peace and time to focus on my family & spend with my daughter. As a stay-at-home mom, it’s valuable time that I get to pour into her without the concern of having multiple other tasks to complete.

If you’re new to morning routines, I created a free checklist for you to use. Once you get started, you may have to review your checklist to make sure you don’t forget anything. However, if you commit to your routine every day, over time it will become second nature.

You will find that you will be able to do your morning routine naturally, instinctively without having to check a list.

Generally, you will begin to see results relatively quickly. It may start with your mindset or your spirit depending on the tasks you’ve chosen for your routine. Don’t forget that the small actions add up over time and turn into great results, so be encouraged when you feel like you aren’t seeing the changes you want to see yet.

What Does the Bible Say About Waking Up Early?

Let’s look at what the Bible says about waking up early.

Jesus got up early to pray:

Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a [a]solitary place; and there He prayed.

Mark 1:35

Abraham got up early to seek the Lord:

And Abraham went early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the Lord.

Genesis 19:27

The example of the Proverbs 31 woman includes starting the day early:

She rises also while it is still night

And gives food to her household

And portions to her maidens.

Proverbs 31:15

Wake up early to seek the Lord:

My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord;

In the morning I will direct it to You,

And I will look up.

Psalm 5:3

I rise before the dawning of the morning,

And cry for help;

I hope in Your word.

Psalm 119:147

It is important that we have balance. If we wake up early each morning to complete our morning routine, we must also commit to going to bed early to get the proper amount of rest.

It is vain for you to rise up early,

To sit up late,

To eat the bread of sorrows;

For so He gives His beloved sleep.

Psalm 127:2
