Day 107 1 Samuel 25-27
In today’s passages, Saul acknowledges that David is the next king. Samuel dies. David is on the verge of killing Nabal for his foolishness, and Abigail, in all of her wisdom, intervenes and prevents David from doing so. David marries her after Nabal dies. Saul continues to hunt him and seek to take his life. David has an opportunity to kill Saul, but he doesn’t. Saul blesses David, but David believes he will eventually die by Saul’s hand, so he flees.
It’s important to remember that even in prolonged trials, we must trust God; otherwise, sin and despair are waiting for the one who fails to trust God.
