Day 101 1 Samuel 13-14
As the story of King Saul begins to unfold, we see more and more that he is unfit to be king. He does not demonstrate strong leadership skills and tends to make foolish decisions. He is often fearful and makes impulsive decisions. There are many times when he chooses to make His own decisions rather than waiting on God, which demonstrates impatience and even a lack of trust in God. We are also introduced to Saul’s son Jonathan, who seems to demonstrate more trust in God, courage, and even a bit more wisdom. Despite Saul’s imperfections and sins, God still has a plan. Not even the mess can interfere with what God has in store with Israel and even those outside of the nation of Israel- the Gentiles. Nothing can ruin God’s plans, which is just one of the things that makes Him so incredible!
