Day 100 1 Samuel 9-12 Chronological Bible Study Notes

Day 100 1 Samuel 9-12

In today’s reading passages, we can observe how God strategically arranges the people and circumstances involved in appointing Israel’s first king. God did for Saul in the book of 1 Samuel, and He still does it today in our lives. God knows every detail of our past, present, and future, and He works out the details even when we can’t see Him working.

He chose Saul, a tall and handsome man from the tribe of Benjamin. The least likely candidate- someone most people would overlook. After all, Saul was from Gibeah, the people who committed a vile and wicked crime that god most of their tribe destroyed except for 600 survivors in Judges 20-21. God uses imperfect people. He will use unqualified people. He can use anyone. Next time you feel unfit for the call He has placed on your life, remember that.

These chapters are loaded with evidence of God’s hand and intentionality. He knows how to use people and events to get His chosen to the right place at the right time. He knows how to provide for us and make sure we have what we need. He knows how to equip us and give us the ability to do what He has called us to do. We really don’t have to do this alone. God is with us, leading us, and all we have to do is surrender and trust Him.
