Day 86 Joshua 16-18
In today’s passages, the Israelites are still working out their allotments of land. Seven tribes still haven’t received their land, so Joshua sends three men from each tribe to survey the land and return with a report. Once they give their report, Joshua distributes the remaining land. There is also a consistent theme in which the Israelites do not drive out all of the Canaanites from the land. This is an act of disobedience because God instructed them to drive out the Canaanites. We also learn some interesting information about the Hebrew letter shin. It is the first letter in “Shaddai,” which means “God Almighty” and is considered God’s initial.
