Day 68 Numbers 33-34
Moses begins Numbers 33 by recounting Israel’s 11-day journey and the places they camped along the way, which ended up taking them 40 years because of their complaining, sin, and lack of trust in God.
Then, God tells Moses that Israel needs to drive out the inhabitants of the land of Canaan and tear down all their altars and idols. And in chapter 34, God lays out the boundaries for the Promised Land.
9 ½ tribes of Israel settled in the Promised Land, and the other 2 ½ tribes settled in the bonus land they requested. Scripture gives us a clear picture of God’s desire and intention in giving Israel this land, reaching back to the promise He made to Abraham. He was committed to fulfilling this promise and doing it well!
God is thorough and such a great planner. This should be comforting to us when we feel like our lives are out of control. God is very much in control, and all we have to do is trust Him and His capability rather than trying to fix everything ourselves. He is so faithful!
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
