Day 65 Numbers 26-27
God tells Moses and Eleazar to take a new census of the new generation. This is to prepare them to enter the Promised Land. It also ensures that everyone from the old generation has died off in the wilderness, as God told them they would. Only Joshua, Caleb, and their families will remain from the old census. Once complete, they find out that, indeed, everyone from the first generation has died. The LORD gives instructions on how to divide the land. There are 5 daughters of Zelophehad who request land since their father is dead. After going through four judges, they stand before Moses. Moses asks God, who grants their request for their father’s portion of the land. Then, God tells Moses he will see the Promised Land from a mountain, and then he will die. Moses asks God to appoint a new leader, and Joshua is the one selected as the successor of Moses.
God is compassionate, generous, and reasonable. He sees the beginning from the end, and He knows what you need when you need it. In fact, He knew before you knew, and He already went before you and made a way. Trust Him with your life.
