Day 58 Numbers 8-10
In today’s passage, the Levites are cleansed and prepared to be fit for their special service to the LORD. Passover is celebrated for the first time since it was initiated. The LORD is present with His people by cloud and fire, which instructed them when to break camp and when to stay in place. Trumpets were implemented to communicated instruction for breaking camp and moving toward the Promised Land, times of war, and times of celebration. The Israelites are imperfect people who often doubted God and complained. They struggled with trusting Him, yet God in His generosity and mercy, wanted to be close to them. Not only that, He chose a tribe of imperfect doubters, consecrated them, and made them Holy for Himself. So, even in times of doubt, don’t be afraid to draw near to the LORD. It’s safe to trust Him.
