Day 39 Exodus 28-29
In today’s passages, God gives instructions for creating the priestly garments for Aaron and his sons. Aaron is a Levite from the tribe of Levi. The Levites were chosen to serve as priests and intercede for the Israelites. Today’s chapters go into great detail as to how the garments were to be made. God said they were to be made for beauty and for glory. Glorious garments were created for those who were chosen to serve a magnificent God.
Here are some key takeaways for today:
- God enjoys nice things. God wanted the priestly garments to be beautiful. He chose precious stones and quality materials to be used to create the garments that the priests would wear as they served Him. God knows quality, and He knows luxury. He created it!
- Holiness and consecration before God are of utmost importance. God is a holy, perfect God, and He can’t be around sin. He detests sin and is in opposition to it because it violates His nature. But He refuses to allow it to separate us from Him, which is why He provided redemption through Christ on the cross.
