Day 38 Exodus 25-27

In today’s passages, the Israelites make contributions for the building of the Sanctuary. Their contribution comes from the plunder of the Egyptians they took with them upon their Exodus from Egypt. God gives very detailed instructions for building the Ark of the Covenant, the Table of Bread, the Golden Lampstand, the Tabernacle, the Bronze Courtyard, and the Court of the Tabernacle.

The Lord showed them His vision on the mountain and gave them the ability to execute it. These plans were a step toward restoring Paradise and all that was lost in Eden. This will be fulfilled when Jesus reveals the new heaven and new earth.

Here are some key takeaways for today:

• God is a God of detail. God is the ultimate Creator. He can cast a vision and ensure that it comes to pass. He is very detail-oriented and strategic. He is a God of order. If you need more order in your life, run to the LORD and embrace His ways.

• God desires to dwell with His people. God wants to be with His creation. This is what the Garden of Eden was all about. He wanted to dwell with His people and walk with them forever, but sin entered by Adam and Eve’s disobedience. The Ark of the Covenant was another way for God to dwell with the Israelites. The Holy Spirit is how He dwells with us now. And when in the new heaven and the new earth, we will finally get to dwell with the LORD forever- just as He originally intended and always wanted.
