Best Under-Sink Water Filter System|Epic Water Review

Hey, I'm LaRissa J, and today I want to share with you my experiences on using an under-the-sink water filter.

I’ve tried a couple of pitcher water filters over the years, but I found that some only filter out a small amount of contaminants. At my house, we drink lots of water and I cook multiple times a day, so it can be annoying having to constantly fill up a pitcher to carry it back to the fridge and remember to replace the filter cartridges every 3 months.

Having an under-the-sink water filter has been a game-changer for us! It saves us time and money, which I will explain in a little bit.

Let me tell you about this filter. This is by Epic Water. It's the Epic Smart Shield. It stays under your sink and filters your cold water, turning it into delicious, pure, and clean filtered water.

Now, I know, under-the-sink filters seem intimidating, but listen—this one is quick and easy to install. I installed ours while the kids were upstairs playing before breakfast.

It can be done in 15 minutes, but I took my time and did it in 30 minutes simply because I've been in this house less than a year, and I needed to become familiar with my under-the-sink area.

Epic Water provides clear instructions in the box as well as on their YouTube channel. I mean, clear pictures and videos that you can follow step by step.

The only tool I needed was a wrench. I used my pliers. Once installed, I ran the cold water for 5 minutes to check for leaks and to clear the filter of debris, and we were good to go.

So, as I mentioned a moment ago, it saves us time because when we need to fill our water tumblers, all we have to do is turn on the cold water, and it fills in seconds. We can put the top back on our tumbler, turn off the water, and we are on our merry way.

With the pitcher filter, we have to take it out of the fridge, fill the cup and put the top on, refill the water pitcher, and then carry it back to the fridge.

The Smart Shield also saves money because this under-the-sink unit only needs to be replaced every 12 months for families that use lots of water, like us. For a single person or household that uses little water, it can last 14-16 months! Amazing!

It also costs WAY less than buying bottled water regularly, like we did for a while when we initially relocated. And you know those bottles add up when you use them to cook and drink from.

Here are some product details that I love:

  • It uses eco-friendly activated coconut carbon block filter media to remove 99.99% of over 70 known tap water contaminants like chlorine, heavy metals, industrial and agricultural pollutants and trace pharmaceuticals.
  • a simple DIY (Do-It-Yourself) install that will fit alongside your garbage disposal and household items stored below the sink.
  • Light Use (usually 1 person): Change filter every 14-16 months
  • Normal Use (usually a couple): Change filter every 12 months
  • Heavy Use (larger family and/or use for pets/cooking/plants): every 9-12 months
  • Filters up to 651 gallons (568 liters) of pure clean water per filter
  • Epic Water is filtered 'intelligently', leaving naturally occurring minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and potassium intact.
  • The filter is made with 100% BPA-free, non-leaching Tritan plastic, pitcher keeps it that way.
  • Now comes with heavy-duty Velcro tape, so you no longer have to drill holes. This allows more people with tight spaces under their sink to install the Epic Smart Shield.
  • 100% recyclable
  •  dimensions of the Epic Smart Shield are 19 3/4" Tall x 4.5" Deep x 4 1/4" Wide.
  • They commit 1% of our sales each year to give back to environmental organizations that are truly making a difference

And let me be clear, you're not limited to an under-the-sink unit. Epic Water also offers a pure pitcher that removes fluoride and PFAS. They have a nano replacement filter that removes bacteria and PFAS.

They even have a variety of filtered water bottles for adults and kids. And one innovative offering they have is filters that are compatible with water bottles you may already have, like Yeti, Hydroflask, Simple Modern, and more!

All of these options allow you to enjoy pure and clean filtered water wherever you go! I definitely recommend this water filter! Tap water and plastic bottles are risky. Get an Epic Water Filter for truly clean hydration.
